sent by my precious sister, Amy.

Ahhh, sweet Michigan fall . . .

The Best Joshua Update Ever!

This beautiful smile belongs to Joshua's mama, Sonia.

I've never met Sonia in person,
but I like her a whole lot.

She is the mama to seven boys and I find that very impressive.
She is also very, very funny, and I love funny people!

She's also an Air Force wife, like me,
so I like that too!

Sonia loves Jesus -- and she
shows it, by being
His Hands and Feet
here on earth.
I like that. A lot.

Today what I love most about Sonia is
her facebook status update . . .

because it says this:

‎"4 suh-weet letters.
H.O.M.E.
Hoping to be paroled sometime this afternoon.
What. A. Journey"

--Sonia Martin

Did you catch that?

Joshua.
Joshua who used-to-be-very-blue
-but-now-he-is-pink,
that Joshua.
Joshua who was an orphan,
with a very, very broken heart--
whose heart has been made new
by our miracle working God,
that Joshua.
Joshua, now a son and brother
who has a family
that loves him beyond measure!

Joshua who now has a
place where he belongs . . .
a home of his own.

Yes,

that Joshua

is going HOME--

for the first time ever!

Oh how mighty is our God!

Thank you Lord for rescuing Joshua! Thank you for the mighty work You have done in his life, thank You for healing him! We ask for continued healing of Joshua's heart and lungs, and every inch of his precious lanky little body. Grow him strong in You Lord! Thank you for giving his family strength for this journey. Thank you that You will continue to be their strength in the days and weeks ahead. Be with Joshua as he heads home, Lord-- as he learns what it means to be a part of a family. Flood him with your peace, Lord, and surround the Martin household in Your love as they are reunited. Thank you Lord for all you have done! In Jesus' name, Amen!

Thank you all for standing in prayer for this little man, please don't stop praying as his new journey begins.

I stand amazed.

Blessings from my nest~

A Sweet Update on Joshua!

Isn't this the most beautiful sight?

It's been a long hard week for Joshua (and his mama), but today has been a good day! You can catch up with them here.

Praising the Lord for His continuing rescue of this braver than brave, little boy!

Blessings from my nest~

P.S. One of Sonia's friends has found a way for us to have yummy restaurant meals sent straight to Joshua's room for his hungry mama (who hasn't left his side, and is far from home). If you would like to help by having a meal sent, or chipping in on one, send me an email from the sidebar and I'll send you the details. Thanks! :)

(Updated!) Prayers For JJ Tomorrow

Joshua is out of surgery, and his fingernails (probably for the first time in his life) are PINK, instead of tinged with blue for lack of oxygen! He came out of the OR once but before he could make it to the PICU, and his mama he had to go back in, and be put back on the heart/lung machine for some "adjustments". The latest word from Sonia is this--

"Glory to God! He is out of surgery, and royally mad at the intubation tube. But he is alive and doing great!!

Thank you all for praying, please continue to pray for Joshua and his family!

Thank you Lord, You are faithful!!

Joshua's open heart surgery is
scheduled for Monday morning.
They will take him into the OR
around 7:00 a.m. (EST)
--the surgery is expected to last
about seven hours.

Joshua means, "God Rescues".

We have watched as the Lord moved mountains
to bring Joshua home from China.
We have seen the doctor's report
that proves that indeed the Lord has been "rescuing"
Joshua since the day that he was born.
Please join with "Team Joshua" tomorrow
as we pray this little man
(and his precious family)
through his surgery.

Lord, our trust is in you.
We stand believing that the rescue mission
you began on the day that Joshua was born
will continue tomorrow!
As the doctors
work to "rebuild" Joshua's heart
we will praise the Great Physician!
Thank you Lord
for being Joshua's Rescuer!

You can keep up with Joshua's brave journey here.

Thank you for praying!

Blessings from my nest~
