We spent the Labor Day weekend in Houston with The Newlys and we crammed an amazing amount of activity into one long weekend, including a side trip to the beach in Galveston (on my true love's birthday).
In our Air Force career we have spent many years living very near the water (in addition to growing up in the Great Lake State). We have lived within walking distance of the Gulf of Mexico, the Atlantic Ocean, and the South China Sea. I didn't realize how much I had missed it until I once again set my eyes on the open water. There is just something about the splendor of it all . . . the warm sand, the noisy waves as they pull at your feet, the way the water meets the sky. It is big and beautiful--creation at its finest!
This was Teddi's first trip to the beach, and as you can tell by the pictures she was more than excited . . .
First touch . . .

jumping . . .

for JOY!

I love this picture of Brogie and Bry.
Look at their matching stances--
isn't that sweet?

Fun in the sun . . .

times four.

Taye and Frankie decide to turn
this castle into a birthday cake . . .

Happy Birthday Dad!

The smiles . . .

say it all!

A giggling Teddi . . .

is transformed --

into a sandy mermaid.
And then it is Brogie's turn . . .

to be a sandy seahorse!

Teddi then takes a turn as an octopus . . .

and a very happy crab!
It was . . .
a beautiful day . . .

in Galveston!

Thank you Lord for ocean breezes, sand in our toes, and precious new memories made. You are good.
Blessings from my beach lovin' nest ~
