More Independence Day . . .

Our little flag waver . . .

a smile never far off!

Teddi enjoyed another "first" on the

4th of July-- bowling!

As you can tell, it was a hit!

The Grinner (an experienced bowler) takes a tip

from big brother . . .

and it looks like it will pay off!

Flit gets some help from Baba.

"What do you call this again, Baba?"

I can report that Teddi like to bowl, and

she thinks that the french fries are pretty good too!

After bowling we came home for a nap,

and then headed out for the July 4th celebration on base . . .

Teddi takes it all in . . .

Brogan and Teddi visited the kid's craft tent,

and decorated balsa wood gliders . . .

and then it was time to fly!

Ready, set, fly . . .

way up high!

"Make mine go, Baba"!

"Flit" flitting . . .

This is really fun stuff!

Where did it go?

Little big brother helps with minor repairs.

Look at the glider decorations . . .

flags, and ladybugs (if you look real close)!

"Flit" finds more time for flitting . . .

flit . . . flit . . .flit . . .

flit!

Ahhhhh, time for a break.

Breaks over . . . flit, flit, flit!

Finally, tired "Flit" and "Grinner" take a

breather before fireworks time.

We debated whether or not to stay close to the fireworks

action or make some distance between us and

the "blast-off area" before it got dark. We weren't sure how

Teddi would handle the excitement. In the end we decided to

stay with our friends (and the crowd), close to the action, and watch . . .

This was Teddi's immediate reaction to the fireworks --

A priceless smile followed by many "yays"

as well as applause for every single pop!

She was in awe, as was her mama . . .

she of the fireworks, and me of my girl.

As the music played and fireworks lit up the nighttime sky, happy

tears filled my eyes. I watched as my new Chinese American

daughter celebrated her independence. . .

and I breathed a silent prayer of thanks.

My Theadora Fu Xiao is flying free!

Blessings~

Tina
