My oldest bird, Bryce, will be home in about 95 hours! Am I excited? Yes, I am! ( His little brother, The Grinner, is about to burst with excitement, and Teddi is keeping count too!)
Anyway, this past weekend Bryce sent us a picture documenting his weekend activity. For anyone who needs some background, Bryce is a Survival Instructor for the Air Force and is stationed in Spokane, Washington. He and a couple of his buddies created this huge "snowman" in front of their dormitory. The "SERE" on the front stands for survival, evasion, resistance, and escape. In a word (or two) Bryce trains our nations warfighters in combat survival. Tough job? Yep! Proud mama? You bet!
Without further adieu I introduce to you, "Frosty the SEREman" accompanied by my handsome airman . . .
Now comes the, "Like father, like son" part . . . below is a picture of my dear, sweet husband, Bryan (my first handsome young airmman) taken 24 years ago with, "Frosty the Pararescueman"! A creation he built to represent his own Air Force career field.
To top that creation . . . a Jolly Green Giant (a Rescue mascot) created by Bryan and his fellow airman, the following winter. Circa 1985 . . . Mountain Home, Idaho
Like father, like son . . .

Your military men next to each other - WOW! Made me get all teary-eyed! Thank them both for their service for us, will you? Our Tyler will deploy shortly and again, I could just throw up at the thought. We are so proud of him, but so very aware of the danger he enters when he deploys, couldn't imagine being a military mom without the Lord's constant presence and knowing that ALmighty God protects him somewhere in the world 24/7.
