Into the arms of strangers
You walked.
So very brave,
So very small.
Worried eyes,
Yet a smile on your face
A curious look . . .
“This might be okay.”
A mix of emotion
For one tiny girl,
Seizing the day,
Facing the world.
Everything you knew was gone,
No choice but to carry on.
No looking back,
The time had come.
Ohhhh . . . so very brave.
They called you their “happy girl”,
We called you our “little bird”.
They were right--
And so were we . . .
As in a moment we would see.
You spread those wings,
While smiling bright,
Soaring high,
On your first flight.
Trusting bravely,
All the way.
Flying free
On that first day.
Love conquered fear,
As if you knew,
The many prayers,
We’d prayed for you.
To know us,
And not be afraid--
He granted our requests
That day.
Gotcha tightly
In our arms.
Held and safe,
Fed and warm.
Loved forever,
Precious girl.
Flying bravely,
Happy Bird!
Theadora Fu Xiao Winder,

Beautiful my friend! Absolutely beautiful! I love that so many of us have become mothers all over again in that same room. So thankful to have shared a delivery room with you....though a few years apart. :)
Happy Gotcha Day, sweet Teddi and family!

Oh Tina, what a beautiful tribute to your BEAUTIFUL bird!
I second what Serving the King says about the vision of you becoming Teddi's mommy (family)in that room that holds such a spcial place in so many of our hearts...I will never be able to look at Family Day photographs without feeling tears prick my eyes ... the courage our children must have on that day is just beyond comprehension.
Teddi, you are PRECIOUS and oh how YOU ARE LOVED!
Happy Teddieversary, dear friend!
With Love and Prayers and a Grateful Heart that God chose YOUR nest for His precious bird.
Always,
Amy
