Someone Had a Birthday . . .

and I am so behind.

Guess who turned 23 the day

before Mother's Day?

Yep.

My Taylor girl.

I find it amusing that she used to dress-up

as an "older" lady,

when in all actuality my girl

refuses to grow up.

My dear friend Terry offered to make

Taye's cake. When Terry asked me what Taye likes,

candy was my first (and Taye's favorite) response.

Isn't it perfect?

Lots of chocolate layers . . .

with strawberry filling . . .

and chocolate fudge frosting.

And candy.

Oh so Yum!

Candy.

Of course.

A pretty pink tote full of candy.

All "kid"ing aside.

My Easy-Baking-candy-loving-girl

is really very mature for her 23 years.

She will celebrate her second wedding anniversary

on May 23rd . . . and if you follow me at all

you are familiar with the things

that the not-so-new-Newlys have accomplished

in their young marriage.

The only gift Taylor really asked for was

a donation of

Food Paks for Children's Hunger Fund.

(The same gift her hubby requested

for his April birthday.)

Taye is working diligently on her degree

in Early Childhood Education, and

one day soon she is gonna bless the socks of the

kids who will be blessed enough to

be in Mrs. Rodriguez's class!

This girl of mine--

(the bestest Mother's Day present I ever received)

lights up the world . . .

and I am so proud to call her

MINE!

(Yes, yes, I share her with lots of others,

but she was mine first!)

Happy belated Birthday sweet girl, from all of us.

Our lives are brighter because

of the way you shine!
