It's Official!

Today (actually yesterday now, as it's after midnight China time) we went back to the same Civil Affairs Office where we received Teddi yesterday. We sat through two interviews and answered questions, including why we wanted to adopt from China, how many children we already have (to which you hear, "Wow"), what our jobs are, among others. . .


The most important question came at the end of the interview . . . "Are you satisfied with this child?" Seeing as how they had many people waiting to be interviewed, and probably weren't looking for a ten minute speech on just how satisfied I was with this child, I gave a short but sweet answer, "Very satisfied!"


Oh Xiao Xiao how very satisfied we are with you!!! Today, precious girl you are all ours. Zhu Fu Xiao, the orphan is now Theadora Fu Xiao Winder --daughter, sister, grandaughter, niece, beloved cousin . . . and new friend of many. You have a place little one, a precious place the Lord has saved just for you--you belong! You are loved beyond measure!


Thank you Lord for your amazing gift! Thank you for entrusting your precious one to us. Thank you that you have kept her under your wing, safely waiting until such a time as this. We are forever grateful!

We went out for a walk today to visit some of the shops. Ended up quite damp, and hung out in a shop (Susan's Place, for those of you familiar with Shamien) for quite some time, as we waited on a downpour to pass. It is rainy season here. We finally made it back and dried out, in time to meet up with our Yahoo Group friends Steph and Brian, their daughter Abbie, and new daughter Audrey Hai Ping (who is one of Teddi's orphanage big sisters)! We all had dinner together last night--Thai, at the Cow and Bridge. What fun to finally meet Steph and her family in person after all this time of being waiting mamas together in our wonderful Zhuhai Yahoo Group. (Hello dear Zhuhai family!)

Hoping for a drier day tomorrow (Wednesday). We are supposed to visit the zoo with Mr. Li, our guide, then lunch out, and then another appointment, this one at the police station. It'll be a full day! I need to get back to bed, I laid down with Teddi--who went to sleep peacefully again tonight-- and then I got back up to post. Sleep is in order!
